Case Study: New York Interior Design Firm

PROBLEM

When they came to us, this interior design firm was transitioning from mostly New York City-based work to seeking design work in the Hudson Valley in upstate New York.

They knew that social media would be key for getting their name out there in the area, forging new connections and winning business.

With such a stunning Brazilian-influenced design aesthetic focusing on custom pieces and artwork, they wanted to make sure the intricacies of their brand were represented.

SOLUTION

Wingnut Social created an Instagram strategy focused more on engagement than follower growth to help forge authentic connections. We positioned the brand as being ahead of trends, creating interiors that inspire well-being for those who dwell there.

As a full-service Instagram management client, we supplemented their colorful original design images with bright art and artistic furnishings and textiles. Their feed features local Hudson Valley makers to engage with the community and use key hashtags to reach locals as well as growing their account with design enthusiasts.

We researched hashtags extensively to create posts with viral performance in order to gain the largest exposure to non-followers possible.

RESULT

Their Instagram feed was stunning with many viral posts. The first three months saw an explosion on their account.

They achieved a 1,275% increase in engagement and a 738% increase in impressions, meaning that more people were seeing and interacting with their account than ever before. Their follower growth rate was higher than all of their competitors and more than double the average rate of their competitors.

Their social media reflected their brand values and created a platform for connections in the Hudson Valley area, more press and local opportunities such as participation in design showhouses.

Working with Wingnut has been a wonderful journey! My company was a little behind the curve when it came to social media and mining for leads. They have increased our number of followers on Instagram by leaps and bounds, all the while being very thoughtful about our brand aesthetic.
